Infrared contact mat 

The IR-mat (Infrared contact mat) consists of two units. A 'carpet' of light is transmitted 1-2 millimeters above the floor. When the light is interrupted by for example a foot, the unit triggers the MuscleLab timer. Thus contact time and flight time is recorded. The response time is less than 2ms. The two units can be placed up to 15 meters apart. The effective range is depending of the floor reflective properties and the surrounding light conditions. Under unfavorable conditions (direct sunlight or bright fluorescent light) the range can be limited down to 5 - 10 meters.
